College Park

College Park was founded in the late 1800s by a citrus grower named John Ericsson who started citrus groves. It became popular due to the South Florida Railroad turning into the charming community it is today. College Park offers residents a suburban feel, minutes away from Downtown Orlando. It is located northwest of downtown Orlando, Orlando International Airport, and Disney World.

Known for its beautiful oaks and lake views, College Park has several walking and scenic parks including Albert Park, Guernsey Park, Lake Ivanhoe Park, Loch Haven Park, Princeton Park, and Dartmouth Park. Whether you want to visit a lake or live right on one, College Park has tons to choose from, including Lake Ivanhoe, Lake Adai, Lake Silver, Lake Concord, and more.

The fun never ends in College Park with year-round community events. From Dancing on the Drive in April taking over Edgewater Drive with a giant dance floor, to JazzFest in November and Holiday on the Drive in December turning the Drive into a winter wonderland, there are endless events to enjoy with your family.

College Park has a hometown feel while still offering amazing culture and entertainment. There are endless things to do on Main Street, from exploring the community’s history to dining and shopping. Visit well-known author Jack Kerouac’s old home, which now acts as a nonprofit retreat for writers.

Experience a fun nightlife with Ollie’s Public House, The Tap Room at Dubsdreasd, and The Local College Park bar, or go shopping and enjoy the charming shops along Mainstreet and Edgewater Drive. There are endless local shops to explore inducing Driftwood Market, Bijou’s Boutique, Ritzy Rags, Sassy Pants for activewear, vintage clothing at Dechoes Resale, Foundation for trendy music and clothes, Naked Bar Soap Co. for handcrafted soaps, Embellish FX for all of the cosplay you can think of, and a bicycle shop called Orange Cycle.

Once you’ve worked up an appetite, head over to one of the amazing diverse restaurants Audubon has to offer including amazing burgers at Graffiti Junktion, Caribbean at Tate, or Parisian at Les Petit Pleasure. After a long day of shopping or taking in the beautiful lakes, you can relax at The Spa, where you can get massages, skincare, and soak in the outdoor hot tub.

College Park is boasted to be a great community to raise children because of its above-average public schools. College Park has 32 public schools including Orlando Gifted Academy, Hope Charter School, Cornerstone Charter Academy, and Oakland Avenue Charter School. Education is a strong value in College Park, with many of the streets in the community named after well-known colleges.
