Orange County, Florida is a vast area spanning a large portion of Central Florida, predominantly the city of Orlando. If you’re looking to buy or sell a home here, you’ll find a huge array of options when it comes to choosing your next place to live.
Realtors in the area will be first to tell you that there’s something for everyone in Orange County. From historic pre-war homes, luxury condos, and high-rises in Downtown Orlando to new, custom-built communities in the suburbs beyond, it’s a haven for young people, families, and retirees alike.

Orange County once flourished with orange groves and citrus traders but has since developed into a sprawling urban destination for all pursuits. It’s home to some of the biggest corporate headquarters in the world and, at the same time, is the world’s number one tourist destination thanks to residents like Walt Disney World®, Universal Studios, and SeaWorld Orlando. It’s a place for all walks of life, whether you’re looking to start a family, grow your career or settle down.

In the northwest section of the county, you’ll find the more rural and suburban cities of Apopka, Zellwood, Pine Hills, Ocoee, and Winter Garden. Each of these burgeoning areas offer family-sized homes set amidst the perfect balance of greenery and big-name restaurants, grocery stores and retail.

Just south, the affluent communities of Windermere, Bay Lake, and Doctor Phillips are known for their gated communities hiding private country clubs, championship golf courses, and Mediterranean-style mansions. Hunters Creek, an up-and-coming locale for families, is quickly coming alive with new houses and strip malls, whereas the well-established and well-known Lake Buena Vista boasts the rare opportunity to live close to the magic of Orlando’s top attractions.

But beyond the theme park gates are a collection of neighborhoods in east Orange County lesser-known to non-Florida natives. The beautiful cities of Winter Park and Maitland offer a true taste of Central Florida living. Their sprawling mansions and converted historic homes have plenty of character and potential. Downtown Orlando is most frequented by young professionals looking for an easy commute to work and the neighborhood’s trendy bars, restaurants, and nightlife. The vast selection of condominiums and apartment complexes makes it easy to make that dream a reality.

What many Orange County residents love most about living in the area is the easy access to some of Florida’s best parks and green spaces. Moss Park, named for its moss-draped oak trees, is the biggest in the region covering over 1,550 lush acres. Both locals and visitors also enjoy Bill Frederick Park at Turkey Lake for its waterfront campgrounds. But most unique of all are Wekiva Springs State Park and Kelly Park/Rock Springs, where you can cool off from the hot Florida summers with a dip in the year-round 70-degree water, spot a native manatee, or kayak along the connecting rivers.

Regardless of which part of Orange County you visit, it’s easy to reach your next destination thanks to the countless highways, airports, and public transportation routes that meander through it, including US 441, US 17/92, SR 417, SR 408 and SR 528 to name a few. Most notably, the I-4 runs directly past Downtown Orlando and is perhaps one of the most frequented highways around. The Florida Turnpike intersects the county’s busy tourist corridor. And if driving isn’t on the agenda, you can always hop aboard Amtrak, SunRail, or the Lynx bus system. Orlando International Airport (MCO), located on the southeast side of town, connects millions of travelers to the world every day.

If you’re looking to live in the heart of Central Florida and explore everything the area has to offer, Orange County is the ideal place for you.
